Since I have a week of transition between classes, I decided to take some time to reflect on how my first fully online grad class went. The class I'm referring to is KIN 710: Technology in Kinesiology. I can honestly say that it was a much more enjoyable experience than the one I had during my undergraduate studies. The class was well structured and challenged me to expand my knowledge of technology available in today's cyber-focused society. This class led me to develop the very blog that I'm writing on, as well as further develop many of my social media and social networking sites, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. I also learned about and discovered what an RSS feed is and how to integrate it into many areas of my social media and networking sites.
Of all the things I learned this semester, the most important thing revealed to me was the importance of having an open mind about new technology. Due to my simple-minded, type A personality, I tend to lean towards what is most comfortable to me. Because of this, I rarely take the time to research new and exciting forms of technology, many of which can actually benefit me more than I would have ever assumed. So, my advise to you is to keep an open mind about the use of technology and be willing to explore new options since you never know how you may be able to use these sources to further your development as a student, professional, or for pleasure.
Thanks for reading!
